On the 26th March 2022, Peter Croombe (B 03), Jack Mayhew (Fgh 02), Gus Barton (Fgh 03) and Liam Bendell will embark on a 900-mile relay run from Lands’ End to John O’Groats in 7 days.
Running in consecutive 90-minute solo shifts throughout the day and night, the team will eat, sleep and live on the road until they reach their destination, climbing over 55,000 feet - the equivalent of nearly twice the height of Everest along the way.
Their aim with this challenge is to raise not only funds for their chosen charity, Sport in Mind, but to raise awareness and highlight why exercise is so important to helping maintain mental health.
“Through teamwork, resilience, preparation and determination – MENTAL MILES aims to inspire and break down the seemingly impossible, into something achievable.”
You can read more about the Mental Miles challenge via their website and JustGiving page. You can follow the team and their journey as they take on this challenge on Instagram (@mentalmilesuk).
“Knowing that we could help just one adult or child and give them the support to change their life, gives us all the motivation we need to complete this challenge.”
