Generations ago, graduates joined a business and stayed with it all their lives. Now the choices are wider, the globe smaller and people change jobs frequently or start their own business. As a result students are expected to swap theory for practical experience during their time at university but competition for opportunities is fierce.

Many of you have already been kind enough to offer work experience to fellow OUs which has made a valuable difference to their understanding of what’s involved - in a particular role or industry - and helped them navigate their career choices.

For this reason School for Life would like to establish an OU Internship Scheme offering a variety of opportunities for which OU undergraduates can apply. These could be for two weeks or two months, annual or biennial, whatever would suit you and your company.

If you would like an initial, informal conversation about what might be possible please contact Antonia Bowdler, School for Life Coordinator. Alternatively, if you're ready to offer an opportunity, we would be grateful if you could complete this form.

Thank you.
