A whole weekend of music at Uppingham


Please note: The below OU Event has reached capacity for lunch bookings, however if you would like to attend, please continue to book in using the form below, you will be welcome to attend the concert in Chapel and we will keep you posted if further space becomes available for lunch nearer the time. The other School events are still accepting bookings currently.


OU Event - 'A Celebration of Singing'
Saturday 19th March

OUs are warmly invited to a special concert in honour of Jim Peschek, who passed away in June 2021. Jim was Director of Music, from 1969 to1978 and an inspiration to many OUs throughout his long career at the School, which spanned almost 60 years.

Event details:

  • 11.30am - Concert in the School Chapel (please note - slight change in start time, previously advertised as midday)
  • 12.30pm - Renaming ceremony for the Old and New Music Schools
  • 1.15pm - Complimentary OU Lunch in the Undercroft (currently fully booked)
  • Dress - Informal
  • Cost - the event is free to attend however booking is essential.
  • All OUs and partners are welcome and we hope you will be able to join us.

Pupils from Uppingham’s Singing Faculty perform a variety of French songs

Saturday 19 March 2022, 7.30pm - An Evening with Dame Ann Murray
Renowned Irish mezzo-soprano Dame Ann Murray discusses her life and career on stage with award-winning broadcaster and acclaimed pianist Iain Burnside
Venue: Memorial Hall / Ticket prices: OU tickets at concessionary rate of £10 (additional discount if multiple concerts are booked)

Sunday 20 March 2022, 7.00pm - Concert Choir
Joined by Leicestershire Chorale and a professional orchestra, Uppingham’s 200-strong Concert Choir perform Gabriel Faure’s magnificent Requiem alongside Rutter’s Te Deum.
